Last night the WCRS&Co account management department descended on The Ship for a hotly contested departmental pub quiz.
Greeted by an array of 80s nibbles and with our ever so glamorous compere Colin Douglas (complete with sparkly presenter’s jacket!), the teams were decided and the quiz began. The theme of the quiz was…wait for it…‘finance and business’. “What!???” …we hear you say. But, I kid you not, this was fun!
Colin’s strict monitoring of potential smartphone-facilitated cheating meant that the teams’ occasional attempts to gain an unfair advantage were quickly stamped out. You go Colin!
The scores were tight going into the final round, as the teams negotiated questions about Barry Parkhill our Finance Director (attempts to guess his favourite football team were somewhat unimaginatively split between Celtic and Rangers – it was Rangers, of course) they also tried to identify the doctored logos of various FTSE 350 companies in the picture round….all very challenging.
To round off the quiz the teams were given three minutes to come up with the best drawing of the Churchill dog they could manage; unsurprisingly, Katy Morgan, account manager on Churchill, took maximum points for her team with an uncanny depiction. The picture you see here, did not win. The team naturally greeted the results of the round with a hearty ‘Oh yes!’ However, that wasn’t enough to secure them the win, and the bottle of fizzy stuff went to a team made up of Sarah Hobson, Daniel Britton, Elrike Lochner and Toby Brown, who took the victory by a solitary point (despite the opposition team’s attempts to fool the quizmaster with some rather dodgy marking). Congratulations to them, and a big thank you to Colin Douglas for maintaining the peace!
