THE SECOND OF OUR BESPOKE BMW BRITISH ATHLETE DOCUMENTARIES LAUNCHES

As part of EngineDare, WCRS have created a series of four bespoke documentaries for BMW.

To fill you in in case you missed last week’s post (if you already know what we’re on about skip to paragraph five), the films have been created in partnership with leading British documentary directors – including Bafta award-winning Asif KapadiaRichard De Aragüés TT3D ‘Closer to the Edge’ and Stevan Riley ‘Fire in Babylon’ – and leading GB athletes.

Each of the films focuses on an Olympic or Paralympic athlete from the ‘BMW London 2012 Performance Team’ and is a unique insight into their world as an Olympic athlete and the parallels with BMW as a car and a company.  The films are being shared over the period of four weeks on a YouTube page built by Dare. 

The first film ‘Man and Machine’ by Yannakis Jones premiered last week, and featured the Paralympian David Weir.

The second film in the series, ‘Form and Function’ by Richard De Aragüés, explores the tensions between delivering both aesthetics and technical ability as Louis Smith aims for Olympic Gold with his Pommel horse performance at London 2012 Olympics. In parallel the film looks at the same tensions in the development of the new BMW i8.
