The WCRS Big Break is the ultimate summer advertising internship for anyone looking to cut their teeth in the industry. This time last year I never expected that I’d have completed an internship and been offered a permanent role at a top London agency. As a veteran Big Breaker here’s why I think it’s the golden ticket into advertising…
You’ll be working at a top London advertising agency.
Fancy working at a top 5 agency with clients like Sky, Warburtons, the Royal Navy and McCoy’s? Of course you do.
Forget making tea. You’ll be making real ads.
Get ready to start seeing your work… everywhere. Catching the number 25 bus in the morning emblazoned with a Sky campaign I had worked on was pretty cool!
And you’ll have the training to do it.
Big Breakers are given a mentor in each department to guide them through their placement. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend training workshops and talks from industry experts.
Can’t decide which area of advertising you want to go into? You don’t have to!
The Big Break has three one-month rotations in Account Handling, Project Management and Planning. That way, you can get a taste for each aspect of the industry and find out what’s right for you.
You’ll learn exactly what it takes to work in advertising.
Yes, there may be late nights and skipped lunches, but you’ll be part of a team that takes an ad from concept to launch. And I promise you, the looks on your friends’ faces when you point out your first billboard to them will be worth it.
And you’ll have a bloody good time doing it.
Summer parties, softball tournaments and a research trip to Spain were just a few of the highlights of last year’s Big Break. Yes you’ll work hard, but you’ll play hard too.
So what are you waiting for? Apply for the Big Break 2016 now here . But you’ll have to hurry, applications close at 12pm on 2nd of March.
