We are only as good as the people we employ.
With this in mind, we’re constantly looking for opportunities to engage individuals who may not have previously considered a career in advertising. In demystifying our world we hope to inspire this audience and begin pipe-lining fantastic new talent. Workplace diversity is hugely important for us – it manifests itself in building a better collaboration of ideas and massively influences our creative output.
That’s why this year we’ve several new agency partners to help open up the world of advertising to different talent pools; all adding to already hugely successful internal initiatives such as the Engine Graduate scheme and our Big Break programme.
Firstly, together with our sister agency Partners Andrews Aldridge, we’ve partnered with Speakers for Schools to allow students to come and see what happens inside an agency. Our students collaborate with all of our departments whilst working on a brief – the aim being to really get under the skin of how an idea is conceived, developed and delivered. At the end of the week, each team pitches their idea to a judging panel and the winners receive a prize.
We’ve also partnered with Pitch-it to provide mentoring for 16-19 year olds. The aim is to inspire young people to follow a career in creative industries and provide our staff with accredited mentorship training. In doing this, we are able to provide essential knowledge sharing and guidance to young people as well as develop our mentors’ skills and experience.
On 29th September, we’ll be taking part in Advertising Unlocked – an open house event for anyone curious in starting a career in advertising. The open day allows individuals to get a real taste of what agency life is all about; how our departments work and which career options they might have.
