This week sees the launch of our new TV advert ‘Shock / Excitement’ promoting Churchill’s ‘write-off replacement’ proposition, where customers can choose between a replacement, paying for an upgrade or the money following a write-off.

Directed by long-term collaborator Joseph Mann, the spot is the latest in our ‘Objects’ series for Churchill and features the vocal and comedic talents of Matthew Holness as ‘Scrapey’ the charismatic ice scraper and his friend ‘Dave’, a mute, but nonetheless, highly expressive petrol can.

Following on from January’s ‘Shameful Tattoo’ film, the advert focuses on the joy customers feel with their upgraded car, rather than the unpleasantness of the write-off itself. The ad is designed to appeal to a broad target audience, and as such makes clever use of the classic George Formby song, ‘When I’m cleaning windows’.

The ad will be running on TV throughout 2018 from 12th February.
