If you had to choose the four most important things in your life what would they be? What kind of legal high can you take at work to make you happier? These questions were answered in an inspirational talk by Sian Sutherland and Frederike Magnussen called “35 minutes to make you think differently about everything”. Obviously a slight overclaim but I have to say that they were 35 minutes that made me think differently about a few things and I was captivated from beginning to end. An unlikely combo of ex model turned wellness retreat founder and agency exec turned beauty entrepreneur the duo made a real impact as they went through their top tips for approaching life that little bit differently and forcing you to think outside the box.
Another highlight was an interview with ex PussyCat Doll and Got to Dance judge Kimberly Wyatt, where she talked through her thoughts on brand partnerships and her criteria for choosing brands she likes to work with (it seems anything to do with dance is an immediate yes!). It was really interesting to hear a celebrity’s side of the story as to wen a brand partnership is right and good to know that money isn’t always the answer!
The best talk I attended was by an ex Asda marketing director, Dom Burch who spoke about whether the idea of work/life balance was a myth. Not only was he the most engaging speaker of the day but in letting the audience in on his own challenges with mental health and through numerous funny anecdotes of his career it really was a thrill to listen to the whole way through. I strongly urge everyone to try his top tips to ripping up the rule book and finding true happiness.
