Arachnophobes be warned, this is not for the faint-hearted…
We’re delighted to reveal the second installment in our new recruitment campaign for Royal Marines Commandos. ‘Spider’ follows on from our launch film ‘The Mist’ which went live last week.
The latest spot dramatises that to master stealth, one of the Royal Marines’ major skills, you must learn to override your natural instincts and remain completely calm, even in the presence of danger.
‘Spider’ features a huge, poisonous spider creeping slowly through the jungle. It’s then revealed that the spider is actually crawling over a Marine’s face. However, the Marine is able to ignore this distraction because he is hyper-focused on his own mission.
To keep each film as authentic to Royal Marines operations as possible, ‘Spider’ and ‘The Mist’ were both shot with the Royal Marines on deployment, and each features real, combat-ready Royal Marines Commandos.
Both films were directed by MJZ’s Nicolai Fuglsig.
